Bi-County Gleaning assistant Adams and Franklin County

Interested in being part of the solution to food insecurity in Adams County – here is a chance to join The Gleaning Project working to salvage perfectly good, nutritionally dense produce that would otherwise go to waste and get it into the hands of food insecure individuals across our community. (bilingual a plus)

The Bi-County Gleaning Assistant will support the Gleaning staff in a variety of ways – developing relationships with local growers, harvesting produce, coordinating pick-ups of a wide range of produce, distributing that gleaned food through a network of community partners, and helping manage our volunteer corps. Working across Adams and Franklin counties with paid milage when traveling between counties. Positive attitude required. Ability to speak Spanish a plus.  Some nights or weekends.

Staring pay $16.00 - $18.00 per hour based on experience, 4 day work week, 36 hours per week.

Benefits: 17 Paid Time off days per year, 12 paid holidays, 401K with organizational contributions of 3% of salary with vesting after completion of year two. Individual health, vision and dental insurance with a small employee contribution and a life and disability policy.

Gleaning Seasonal Assistant needed for Gettysburg

Gleaning Seasonal Assistant needed for Gettysburg (bilingual a plus)– interested in being part of the solution to food insecurity in Adam County – we need help through the growing season July 1st through Oct 31st. The Gleaning Project works to salvage perfectly good, nutritionally dense produce that would otherwise go to waste and get it into the hands of food insecure individuals across our community.

The Gleaning Seasonal Assistant will support the Gleaning Project in a variety of ways – harvesting produce, keeping the produce stand stocked, unloading or loading deliveries, coordinating pick-ups of produce, distributing produce to community partners, and working with volunteers. Positive attitude required. Ability to speak Spanish a plus.  May include some nights or weekends.

Staring pay $16.50 per hour based on experience, 4 day work week, 36 hours per week.

Qualifications: Ability to lead volunteer groups during on-site harvests and manage produce pick-up and distribution with partner organization. Experience working with families from all walks of life, deep belief that all people deserve dignity and respect.

Benefits: Paid Holidays and PTO. End of season successful completion bonus of $500..
