SCCAP Gettysburg Apartment Project
Four Affordable Units in Gettysburg
When SCCAP acquired the old Columbia Gas building for the Family Homeless Shelter. Before construction on the shelter took place, we raised the roof to make space for four apartments. Adams County is in dire need of affordable housing for working families, families who support the tourism and agricultural community. Being able to add four units in the Borough of Gettysburg, where the service-oriented jobs exist but don’t always generate enough income for families to live in Gettysburg where they work, was part of our excitement about acquiring this building. Gettysburg needs a shelter to help families get back on their feet, but really, the answer to homelessness is not more shelters, it is affordable housing for the folks who live and work in the area. SCCAP is thrilled to be part of the Affordable Housing solution!
