A Mental Model created by a mom staying at our shelter who had experienced domestic violence but just wanted a safe home for her children.
Karen attended our Support Circles initiative and set and met goals that would build a brighter future for her and her daughters. Karen recently bought a house - a testament to her hard work and detemination!
It is difficult to stay at a shelter, imagine being homeless, having a newborn, and also not having any transportation. A wonderful donor gave this family a vehicle. Imagine the difference that will make on their journey to secure housing and stability. Our generous community provides support that means the world to local families and helps them build a new future story!
Even the littlest helpers can make a difference - and then take a break to enjoy the amazing produce.
Rep. Kauffman presented Moe with the Rising Phoenix award - Melissa and Moe, who always worked hard, set goals and worked to move their family of all programs and to stability and are now thriving. So proud of their hard work.
More than 20% of food is wasted between a farm or producer and when it gets to families, SCCAP’s Gleaning Project utilizes an army of volunteers to go our and rescue food that would otherwise go waste and gets it into the hands of families experiencing food insecurity in our community.
Angie wanted a better future. Her mental model, a drawing of what she wanted for her future, showed her starting a new business and working toward buying a home. She has worked hard, has started her own business and is on her way to a house with a credit score that she has worked hard to move from in the 500s to over 725!
